This was a second-round purchase of dimmable MR-16 LED bulbs. The color temperature of these bulbs is perceptually cooler (i.e., more toward 3000K) than normal, so I purchased 2700K instead of 3000K bulbs. Please note that, when dimmed, the bulbs maintain their color temperature. This can be disconcerting to a human used to the characteristics of a halogen or incandescent bulb when dimmed. Dimming is still an issue when using LED bulbs. However, I discovered that by leaving a halogen MR-16 in one of the fixtures on a dimmer circuit, the flashing disappeared or was greatly minimized. Of course, the appearance of the halogen bulb is different from the LEDs, but this solution seemed less expensive and required no new dimmer or transformer purchases for the "retrofit."

Great Service!!! I purchased tis led bulb a few months back and it began flickering. Goodmart replaced the bulb at no cost! The new bulb arrived within the next two days and is working great! Goodmart also seems to have the best prices around!

These bulbs are an early generation of dimmable LEDs that finally have light output close to halogens. Their color, as opposed to color temperature, is closer to halogens or incandescents than CFLs, although their light output per watt is similar. To avoid disappointment, be sure to use compatible dimmers and transformers. These bulbs were purchased for use in hallway track lights. They have a relatively wide beam, put out a fair amount of light, similar to the 35 watt halogens they replaced, and seem to be more toward the 3000 degree temp than the rated 2700. There is also some incompatibility with my dimmer and/or transformers, as the bulbs tend to blink at times. Philips clearly states that the bulbs need to be used with compatible dimmers and transformers, and posts a list of compatible equipment on their web site.
