Fresh 2TI Odor Eliminating 14 Watt 120 Volt CFL Lamp has a titanium dioxide coating which creates a photocatalytic reaction when exposed to the fluorescent light from the bulb. This reaction releases electrons. At the same time a positively charged hole is formed in place of the negative charge generated by the electron release. This combination of positive and negative creates a strong oxidizer called the hydroxide radical. Odors that come into contact with the positively charged holes are broken down by these oxidizers into odorless compounds.
