The AERC Pre-Paid Return Program has many advantages for facilities that generate small volumes of batteries that do not contain mercury. The program is simple to use and requires a minimum of administrative burden. Order as many of these Pre-Paid Return recycling kits as you anticipate needing for your facility (per month, quarter or year). Each kit contains a shipping label, an orange warning/instruction label and all packaging. When the pail is full of spent batteries, seal it, remove any old labels from the pail, fill out the supplied shipping label with your facility name and address, and attach both the shipping label and the warning/instruction label to the pail. Hand the pail to your FedEx Ground driver the next time FedEx Ground makes a routine delivery to your facility. Do not mix battery types in the same pail (i.e. Zinc with alkaline or NiCad). Do not alter the shipping label. Add only the facility name and address, do not modify the label in any other way. Our Pre-Paid Return Program reduces the chance of facility contamination by minimizing battery volumes on-site, and allows each facility to purchase battery recycling services based on its individual needs. Allows for proper management with minimal handling of batteries. Eliminates the need to fill out complicated shipping documents. Reduces administrative burden without reducing control. Establishes standard operating procedures from facility to facility. *Lithium Batteries are not included in recycling program.
